Rust, paint, scale and oil taken off, without touching the metal underneath.
Rust, mill scale, old paint, welding residue and baked-on oil all come off under a pulsed fibre laser. We remove the contamination layer by layer and stop at the sound metal underneath, leaving a clean, lightly profiled surface that is ready for paint, powder coating or galvanising straight away.
Unlike sandblasting, there is no abrasive media to embed in the surface and no dimensional change, so threads, mating faces and tolerances are unaffected. Unlike chemical stripping, there are no toxic baths, no rinse water and no neutralising step.
Most pieces come to our workshop, either collected by us or dropped off. Where a piece cannot travel, or the job is better done in place, the machine is mobile and we bring it to you.
Cast iron benefits most of all. Sandblasting strips the rust and then keeps going into the crisp edges, the beading and the foundry marks that make a piece worth restoring. Nothing touches the surface here, so decorative casting, cast lettering and original texture survive the process intact.
Pulsed laser energy vaporises rust and oxide at the surface without touching the steel beneath. No pitting, no mechanical damage.
Nothing physically strikes the surface, so cast detail, sharp edges and maker's marks stay exactly as they were made.
The laser removes the corrosion and stops. Thin sections, threads and mating faces keep their original dimensions.
Clean a single rusted patch and leave sound paint beside it untouched. Useful on parts you do not want fully stripped.
Blocks, heads, manifolds, brackets and housings cleaned without opening up tolerances or blasting grit into oil passages.
Pulleys, housings, machine parts and industrial castings de-rusted and de-greased on the bench.
Wood burners, stove plates, pans and griddles taken back to bare iron with no chemical residue left behind.
Hinges, shutter fittings, door furniture, latches and salvaged period pieces, including decorative cast detail.
Cast iron benches, tables and chairs stripped of layered old paint and rust ready for repainting.
Precision cleaning of tooling and dies, removing build-up without affecting critical dimensions.
Spatter, heat tint and oxidation removed from weld zones, leaving a clean, inspection-ready finish.
A clean, dry, lightly profiled surface that primer grips well, with no moisture or grit trapped underneath it.
Message a photo of the piece on WhatsApp. That is usually all we need to tell you what is involved.
We arrange a time and collect from anywhere in Malta. You are welcome to drop the piece off with us instead.
The piece is cleaned in our workshop, under controlled conditions with proper extraction.
Some pieces cannot travel, and some jobs are better done in place. The machine is mobile and we have the van, so for the right job we work on site anywhere in Malta.
Message us a picture of the piece and we will tell you what we can do with it. No obligation.
