Privacy Policy
This is the privacy policy for MaltiOnTheGo, a Maltese-language learning app published by GreenWorks Malta. We have written it in plain language because the policy is short and the answer is mostly: we do not collect anything about you.
1. Information we do not collect
We do not collect any personal information about you. We do not run analytics or advertising trackers. We do not require an account.
2. Information stored on your device
To remember what you have learned, the app stores a small amount of data locally on your device only using your browser's localStorage. This includes:
- Your XP total
- Which lesson sections you have completed and to what percentage
- Your preferred language for the app's interface (English or Spanish)
- A flag indicating you have already seen the install-to-home-screen prompt
This data never leaves your device. We have no way to read it. Clearing your browser data or uninstalling the app removes it.
3. Audio and lesson content
Lesson text and audio (MP3 files) are loaded from our public hosting on GitHub Pages. The host (GitHub) sees standard web-server logs (your IP address, the URL you requested, the time of the request) the same as any website. We do not have access to those logs and do not request them.
For offline use, the app installs a service worker that caches lesson content on your device after first download.
4. Children's privacy
The app is suitable for all ages and does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Because we do not collect data, we cannot accidentally collect it from a child either.
5. Third-party services
The app makes use of:
- GitHub Pages — hosts the app's HTML, JavaScript, audio files. GitHub's privacy statement.
- Google Fonts — serves the Lexend typeface used in the app interface. Google's privacy policy.
We do not share data with these services because we do not collect any.
6. Future changes
If we ever add features that collect data — for example optional cloud sync of your progress, or anonymous usage analytics — we will update this policy and prompt you in the app before any data is sent. We will not silently start collecting information that we previously did not collect.
7. Your rights
Because we do not have any of your data, there is nothing for us to delete, export, or correct on request. You can clear all the local data the app has stored on your device by:
- iOS: Settings → Safari → Clear History and Website Data, or for the installed PWA, delete the app from your home screen.
- Android: Settings → Apps → MaltiOnTheGo → Storage → Clear data.
- Browser: Site settings → Cookies and site data → Clear data for this site.

Esta es la política de privacidad de MaltiOnTheGo, una aplicación para aprender maltés publicada por GreenWorks Malta. La hemos redactado en lenguaje sencillo porque la política es corta y la respuesta es, en su mayor parte: no recopilamos nada sobre ti.
1. Información que no recopilamos
No recopilamos ninguna información personal sobre ti. No ejecutamos rastreadores de analítica ni de publicidad. No requerimos una cuenta.
2. Información almacenada en tu dispositivo
Para recordar lo que has aprendido, la aplicación guarda una pequeña cantidad de datos únicamente en tu dispositivo usando el localStorage de tu navegador. Esto incluye:
- Tu total de XP
- Qué secciones de lecciones has completado y en qué porcentaje
- Tu idioma preferido para la interfaz de la app (inglés o español)
- Un indicador de que ya has visto el aviso de "añadir a la pantalla de inicio"
Estos datos nunca salen de tu dispositivo. No tenemos forma de leerlos. Borrar los datos del navegador o desinstalar la aplicación los elimina.
3. Audio y contenido de las lecciones
El texto y el audio de las lecciones (archivos MP3) se cargan desde nuestro hosting público en GitHub Pages. El host (GitHub) ve los registros estándar de servidor web (tu dirección IP, la URL que solicitaste, la hora de la solicitud) igual que cualquier sitio web. Nosotros no tenemos acceso a esos registros y no los solicitamos.
Para el uso sin conexión, la aplicación instala un service worker que almacena en caché el contenido de las lecciones en tu dispositivo después de la primera descarga.
4. Privacidad de los niños
La aplicación es apta para todas las edades y no recopila información personal de nadie, incluidos menores de 13 años. Como no recopilamos datos, tampoco podemos recopilarlos por accidente de un niño.
5. Servicios de terceros
La aplicación utiliza:
- GitHub Pages — aloja el HTML, JavaScript y archivos de audio. Declaración de privacidad de GitHub.
- Google Fonts — sirve la tipografía Lexend que usa la interfaz. Política de privacidad de Google.
No compartimos datos con estos servicios porque no recopilamos ninguno.
6. Cambios futuros
Si en el futuro añadimos funciones que recopilan datos — por ejemplo sincronización opcional en la nube de tu progreso, o analítica anónima de uso — actualizaremos esta política y te avisaremos dentro de la aplicación antes de enviar ningún dato. No empezaremos en silencio a recopilar información que antes no recopilábamos.
7. Tus derechos
Como no tenemos ninguno de tus datos, no hay nada que podamos eliminar, exportar o corregir a petición tuya. Puedes borrar todos los datos locales que la app ha guardado en tu dispositivo así:
- iOS: Ajustes → Safari → Borrar historial y datos de sitios web; o, para la PWA instalada, elimina la app desde la pantalla de inicio.
- Android: Ajustes → Aplicaciones → MaltiOnTheGo → Almacenamiento → Borrar datos.
- Navegador: Configuración del sitio → Cookies y datos del sitio → Borrar datos de este sitio.
